The Sapling Co.

our story

this is our small self-sustaining homestead where we raise our children in the likeness of Christ with an abundance of learning opportunities with not only textbooks, but all that nature and the farm have to offer!

about the Grapps

Andrew and I both grew up in relatively small down iowa, just outside of Des Moines. Iowa is a great place to not only raise a family, but it has always been a great place for us to grow up. this is exactly why we chose to raise our children here too.

we have two beautiful kiddos who you will see often throughout our page and blogs! They are heavily involved in all of our crazy adventures, and love exploring all the possibilities this life provides. We wanted to give our children the life we always wanted ourselves (or maybe just me 😬) so raising them on a farm was an easy decision. The road getting here has not been easy. And we have SO many sacrifices were made. But as a parent you know that giving your all for your children is always worth it!

We’ve created our little hobby farm for beginners, with intentions to grow with where our farm takes us. All the while, we are homeschooling our children right here on the farm. they are learning long lasting life skills they can forever keep with them as they grow older. we base our education on christian homeschool curriculums in addition to more primitive learning strategies which wildschooling, nature schooling and unschooling tactics.

This is our small self sustaining homestead where we raise our children in the likeness of christ with an abundance of learning opportunities with not only textbooks, but all that nature and the farm have to offer.

therefore, this is where the Sapling Co was born.
